Change that matters take place in the Classroom.

A call for Observation

Noli has implemented some new changes over the past few years. Read 180. System 44, New math curriculum, ISA program, More teacher preparation time added to the schedule, Removal of non-essential meetings, et el,  but none of this matters unless changes take place in the classroom. Data driven educational practices must be used in the classroom. Best practices in teaching strategies must be implemented. Cooperative teaching must be facilitated. Teachers should work together (and with their coaches and Administration) to create curriculum that meets the basic educational needs of the students while meeting the state standards. One valuable tool to achieve this: teachers taking time to observe each others classrooms to see practices, strategies, and classroom learning environment skills being implemented. We can learn a great deal from each other. So my call is for teachers to set time aside to visit each others classrooms and help make our effort at Noli a "more collaborative environment for change".
